Well Done to the Under 17′s on their great penalty shootout victory over favorites Kingston Park in the Final of the CYD Cup.

A great effort by every member of the team with a gutsy performance against a top team like Kingston.

The Hawks played some great possesion stuff in awful conditions

Special mention has to go to GK Joe Angus though.

A point blank save late on followed by a last minute penalty save sent the game into extra time. The deadlock wasnt broken which led onto the dreaded penalty shootout!

The Hawks scored all of their penalties and then hero Joe rounded off his match winning display with another fantastic penalty save to win the Cup for the Hawks.

Well done to Jay,Jonny and the whole squad.

Following this weekends tremendous 2-0 win at Bedlington we can now confirm that the Under 14′s are Division 3 Champions. A huge well done must firstly go to the players and the management team of Adrian and Steve who have secured two back to back promotions, this year going that bit further forward and winning the league. Having attended many of the games I have to admit the parents and players are fine ambassadors for the club, conducting themselves in a manner befit to Heaton Hawks football club. Massive well done from all at the club.

FROM ADRIAN -Heaton Hawk U14′s have been crowned as the League 3 champions after another progressive season that has been build on promotion last season and therefore gain back to back successes.

It has been very much a different season this time around with the success being built upon a team ethic rather than any one outstanding individual. This can be seen by the fact that we have conceded only 1 or 0 goals in three quarters of our matches. That shows the solid base that the team has been built and progress has been made in the team. Another League and another challenge lies ahead for next season and I’m sure we all know that we will all need to improve to progress again but for now enjoy the success, you all deserve it.

I would like to thank the kids for turning out every week for training and matches and their desire to play has been important as we have progressed through the season. Another thanks also to the parents who again have been really supportive to all the players and are fine ambassadors for the club. Its a good time to thank the Exec also for allowing us to play and many thanks for the unseen work that goes into allowing us to turn out and play each week. Thanks for the support all.

Well Done to Stu,Patrick and all the players from the Under 10′s Hawks who have had a great season. Not only did they reach a Cup Final ( lost on penalties ) but a run of 5 consecutive wins has seen them clinch the title in the Under 10′s top division of the Newcastle Mini Soccer league . As the results went the way of the HAWKS with Redhouse Eagles only able to get a Draw this result makes the HAWKS “Champions”

Well Done Lads from all in the Club.

Heaton Hawks Newsletter

As we are well into the new season I wanted to send out this newsletter to let you know how we as a club are progressing. The Club is growing in size. We are up to 19 teams now and this season we have added another 5 teams, 3 at under 7/8 level and also an Under 10 Falcons team. Finally we welcome our first ever senior team the Under 19′s who are prodominately last seasons Under 17′s . Welcome to all old and new players of Heaton Hawks JFC and thank you for staying or choosing our club.

The Clubhouse is now up and running from the start of this season and I would like to thank Susan and Deborah who have worked tirelessly every Sunday Morning selling teas and coffees along with the odd bacon or sausage sandwiches. All funds raised go back into the Club.

Subscriptions:

The Club are very aware of the highly publicised difficulties we all face with the current economic situation, so the club has decided that are subs will remain frozen this season again the 5th Year in a row. Your subscriptions will remain payable weekly at £3, monthly at £15 over 10 months or a one off seasonal payment of £150. We have introduced a membership fee of £10; this £10 has funded the purchase of a royal blue “hoodie” jumper with the Heaton Hawks logo and the player’s initials. Which look great and have created a unique identity throughout the club.

Welfare:

The welfare of the players within the club remains paramount and we are always looking at our own procedures and conduct to ensure they are kept in line with current legislation. To ensure we operate in the correct manner the club has appointed two Child Welfare Officers (CWO), Donna Atkinson and Rob Davidson. These are a separate entity to the football side of the club and answer directly to the Child Welfare department of the FA and NOT the club. If at any time you feel you would like to discuss a matter with the CWO’s please do so either by approaching them on the manor (Donna and Rob will both wear clearly identifiable CWO jackets) or you could email them in confidence on cwo@heatonhawks.co.uk

Season so far

Mini Soccer Teams all play in the Newcastle Mini Soccer Local and Trusted.com League.

Under 7/ 8s

We have 3 teams at this age group this season which is more than we have had in the past. All teams are progressing well in this Development League. These players are just starting out on their football careers and everyone within this age group is learning the game. Thanks must go to the coaches Brian, Michael, Brett, Alan, Paul and Karim.

Under 9s

Hawks came runners up in their preliminary league and at present are top of the Milburn League as the Newsletter went to print. They are also through to the quarter finals of the league cup after winning the group stage round robin where they won all 4 games scoring 19 goals without conceding any.

The Kestrels struggled in their preliminary league and are now placed within the Gallowgate League the lads are giving there best and are coming together as a team.

Under10s

We have 3 teams at this age. The Hawks are going well in the Magpie League and are into the ¼ finals of the CYD Cup. The Kestrels who play in the Toon League are half way through their season. Having played 9 they have won 3 drawn 3 and lost 3. They are looking forward to the 2nd half of the season and hope to prigress even further in the league and cup competitions. With the help of the parents fundraising, we where hoping for a mid season break away to Spain or Portugal but unfortunately that was ruled out . Instead, for a Christmas treat, the Kestrels squad are off to see that other football team up the road, Newcastle United, when they play West Bromwich Albion . We might even give them a few tips. The Falcons were created in the summer of 2011, after so many local kids turned up for pre–season open training sessions wanting to be part of the Hawks. This inspired the club to enter an additional under 10’s team into the league. With a new coach they set their targets for the season to be both enjoyment and personnel development, with an ethos very much centred on learning and growing together as a team. Some of the boys had never actually played in a competitive match. They have approached every game improving a little at a time, always taking the positives and trying to apply the practice from training sessions into each game. The last 8 games have seen the Falcons lose only 1 draw 2 and win 5 climbing theTyne league.

David Allen the clubs Mini Soccer Coordinator stated “I am happy with the way the club is developing and progressing at Mini Soccer”.

Our 11 a side teams play in the Pinpoint Recruitment Junior Football League.

Under 11s

Hawks have progress steadily over the season so far and are holding there own in a strong division 2 they hope to push on and will give it there best effort in the second half of the season. The Kestrels started the season thinking they were going to go the whole season without winning as the table started looking ever more depressing the their points being a nice round figure. Six games in having played the runaway league leaders twice and the top 4 teams playing entertaining football they had their first win then another and so far they after 12 games won 5 Drawn 1 Lost 6 are currently in the NACYP Cup Quarter finals beating a Div 3 top team along the way, they are well placed to push on for the rest of the season.

Under 12s

Play in division 2 of the league and have a few new players who have joined the Hawks and are starting to settle in well with the existing lads, and we are hoping for a big push in the 2nd half of the season.Training has been bright and we are starting to see the fruition of this in some good passing play on the pitch.

Under 13s

Hawks are currently mid table at the moment having won 3 drawn 3 and lost 6 hoping for improvement of the rest of the season.Kestrels are again progressing well following promotion last season they have strengthened their team and are currently 2nd in the division having won 8 and lost 2.

Under 14s

Following promotion last season, we started off in good spirits but lost the first match of the season which was a wake up call. Since then, the team have gone from strength to strength winning 8 out of 8 in the league and sitting top of the division. In the cups we have progressed but fell against some top teams but still in three cups going into the New Year. A really progressive and impressive start but we need to keep this going. Well done all.

Under 15s

Started the season with a draw against a strong Amble side then had a couple of blips before getting going on a winning run of 6 wins. The team is looking to improve even more over the second half of the season with promotion the aim.

Under 16s

Hawks have struggled at the start of the season but now seem to be turning things around. Kestrels started the season brightly they have had a couple of hiccups of late but going into the New Year hope to push on.

Under 17s

Only played a handfull of games hoping to turn their season round after the mid season break.

Under 18/19s

First year for the Under 19’s (seniors) and it has started off brilliantly. Our 17’s have advanced from last season to become Heaton Stannington Hawks and although playing a year out of age group the lads have battled well and at this moment lead the league on goal difference and have reached a cup semi-final to be played in January. At what is very difficult age group the steady 13/14 lads have committed well and are a credit to the Club. Congratulations go to Joel Scrafton, Chris Douthwaite and Alex Kennedy who have represented the Northumberland County at under 18 level

Development Plans

The Club has put together a Development plan for the future this includes:

A WAGS program which should be starting in the new year which will be the clubs first endeavour into female football.

Coach development is one of the clubs priority and our coaches have embraced the FA licence program we are actively seeing all our coaches pushing to complete their annual Coaching Professional development. All Hawks coaches are licensed as per the FA licensed coaches scheme.

The Development of players at the older age groups within the club has seen the club join up with the NFA and the football futures program. This will see the lads coaching, refereeing or helping with administration duties within the club.

We have since the start of the season had 9 new coaches join the clubs volunteers list and I would like to welcome them all. If anybody is interested in coaching then let Mark Atkinson know.

Vacancy

The Club have a vacancy within the committee Fundraising / Grants Officer anybody wishing to apply contact the clubs secretary John Bowrs.

Help Required

We as a club are always looking out for helpers in any areas such as fundraising, grants if anyone feels they have anything to offer the club or want to volunteer to help in these areas please get in touch at info@heatonhawks.co.uk

End of Season Presentation

We were hoping to go back to the People’s theatre again this year but unfortunately we have been unable to obtain a suitable date.

So we are on the look out for a venue to hold the end of season bash. If anybody knows of a venue please let us know or let us know your feelings on having a end of season presentation we can be contacted by email at info@heatonhawks.co.uk or see one of the committee members.

Heaton Hawk JFC prides itself that our reputation throughout the Northumberland FA of the friendly atmosphere we create for all teams that play at our ground. Let’s keep it up and best of luck for the rest of the Season

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
